US Senator John McCain refuses to monitor elections in ‘imaginary countries’

US Senator John McCain has responded to an invitation from separatists in the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic to come to the region and monitor elections. He thanked representatives of the self-proclaimed republic for this “unique invitation” and emphasized that he does not “typically monitor the elections of imaginary countries.”
